In today’s fast-paced workplaces, burnout, disengagement, and mental fatigue are no longer fringe issues - they are everyday realities. As organisations rethink corporate wellness programs and meaningful corporate workshops, there’s a growing shift toward approaches that are human, experiential, and genuinely restorative.
This is where creativity and art therapy enters the conversation.
Hi, I’m Venus - a product leader, born artist, and founder of Venus Art Bench. My work sits at the intersection of creativity, wellbeing, and the corporate world. What I offer today through art therapy workshops in Sydney has been shaped by a lifelong relationship with art, a 16+ year corporate career, and a deeply personal journey toward healing through creativity.
A Lifelong Relationship With Creativity
Creativity has always been my safe place.
From the age of eight, I was drawing, painting, writing, and making things purely from memory and intuition - long before I knew that expressing emotions through art was actually called therapy. Art wasn’t something I was taught; it was something I instinctively turned to.
Over time, that love for art led me to exhibit, present, and sell my work across the globe - all while being a self-taught artist and maintaining a full-time corporate career.
In 2014, after getting married and moving to Australia, I founded Venus Art Bench to sell my artworks internationally on Etsy. Creativity remained constant even as life evolved.
Motherhood, Burnout, and the Power of Art to Regulate the Mind
Becoming a mum in 2017 changed everything.
It opened up an inward journey of reflection, growth, and transformation — one that many professionals quietly experience while juggling work, family, and identity.
During the pandemic, when my mind felt loud, overstimulated, and overwhelmed, I noticed something simple yet powerful: nothing calmed me like a few colouring supplies.
That moment of sitting with art - no agenda, no outcome - felt like coming home. It was grounding. Regulating. Restorative.
In 2021, I consciously re-picked my artistic path not as a hobby, but as a vital wellbeing practice.
From Engineering to Product Leadership - and Mindful Work
In 2021, I let go of my decade-long engineering career and transitioned into product management. This professional pivot was transformational.
This year also marked the beginning of a deeper mindfulness journey one that helped me slow down, rebuild confidence, and feel more grounded in both life and work.
In 2022, the Venus Art Bench website launched. Over the next few years, I:
-
Created commissioned artworks
-
Launched multiple art collections and prints
-
Featured on podcasts and newsletters
-
Built a home studio
-
Facilitated my first watercolour and meditation workshop
That workshop was the true marriage of everything I’d experienced since childhood creativity, mindfulness, and emotional expression now shared with others.
Why Art Therapy Belongs in Corporate Wellness Programs
In 2025, I completed my Holistic Art Therapy Practitioner certification, giving structure, theory, and therapeutic grounding to what I had intuitively practiced for decades. Today, I design and facilitate corporate workshops and creative therapy sessions that bring together Art therapy principles, Emotional regulation tools, Psychological safety & Real corporate experience.
Unlike traditional wellness initiatives, art therapy workshops don’t rely on talking, performing, or problem-solving. Instead, they:
-
Lower stress through sensory engagement
-
Support reflection without pressure
-
Build connection across teams
-
Offer a non-verbal outlet for emotional processing
For modern workplaces especially hybrid and high-performing teams this approach fits seamlessly into evolving corporate wellness programs.
A Full-Circle Moment
My eight-year-old self didn’t have the language for what art was doing for her but she felt it.
Today, through art therapy practices in Sydney, corporate workshops, and creative wellbeing programs, I offer others what creativity quietly gave me all along:
space to pause, regulate, and reconnect with themselves.
This work is deeply personal.
It’s my way of giving back ✨
