aussie landscapes Great Ocean Road
Being an immigrant in a new country, at some point we all feel ungrounded, misunderstood or even unheard. It’s not because the new land is not accomodating enough, it’s just because we haven’t been able to find our comfort zone to voice our opinions the way we generally would, to feel a sense of belonging and in general, feel like we’re home. The reason we take such massive risks of leaving everything behind generally is because we’re open to experiment.
I put my recent experiments to express one of my biggest experiments in real life- moving to a new home called Australia.
This collection is my ode to this beautiful country, which I call my Karma Bhoomi meaning the land of service in my mother tongue Hindi. It depicts eight breathtaking sights where the whites & blues merge like no one’s watching with sprinkles of abundant greens and browns. I’ve tried to capture the wilderness using untamed ink with palette knife, and going over with mixed media like water colours & oil pastels.
I hope you like the interpretations as much as I loved creating them!
